This week, I interviewed junior biology major Jasmine Muniz-Cadorette on spring style.
Let’s start off with where you shop. What are some of your go-to stores?
JM: I like to shop at stores that provide high quality clothing for reasonable prices. A few of my favorites are J. Crew, Banana Republic, Urban Outfitters and Zara.
Do you have any celebrity influences that you look to for style inspiration?
JM: Yes, I love Jessica Alba’s style — she has the perfect balance between classic elegance and current flare. I also look toward Angelina Jolie for inspiration. I think there is something to be said for women who can be fashion forward while still presenting themselves with class and poise.
What is your favorite thing about dressing for the spring season?
JM: It’s so refreshing to mirror the new spring colors outside in my wardrobe through a brighter color pallet. Also, I’m so glad that I no longer have to cover up my outfit choices with a bulky winter coat.
What is your favorite accessory that you absolutely can’t live without?
JM: My ring. I got this simple silver ring from Green Street Consignment in Princeton and I wear it every day. It’s such a great place to find unique high quality jewelry that doesn’t tarnish.
How would you describe your personal style?
JM: I would say my style is very versatile. I don’t stick to just one look. It’s all about experimenting with different textures and patterns, but at the same time keeping it classic and simple.
What is your best shopping advice?
JM: Comfort is key to being confident in your clothes. You want to choose classic pieces that are higher in quality so they will last you a long time. Quality over quantity is definitely the way to go.
What is your biggest fashion pet peeve?
JM: When people are wearing things that don’t fit them. One of the most important elements of dressing well is making sure that your clothes are tailored to your body.

LBD: noun; a commonly used acronym in the fashion world to refer to a “little black dress.”
The LBD may just be three letters, but it possesses the versatility of a chameleon and the fashion cred of Coco Chanel. Perfect for the chic college student on a budget, the little black dress can give you a different look from Monday through Sunday without breaking the bank. Here’s how:
Monday: Keep Monday cool and casual with your LBD and a cute fitted denim jacket, accompanied by a patterned scarf to give the look a bit more dimension. Pair this with short ankle boots, and you’re ready to take on the week!
Tuesday: Channel your inner business woman on Tuesday and give your LBD a little bit of a professional flare by throwing on a sleek blazer and simple statement necklace. Slip on a pair of pointed flats to keep the look sleek and posh.
Wednesday: Get through hump day by going for a more laid-back look and throwing a neutral pullover sweater over your LBD. Balance out the comfort by adding a simple gold watch and animal print espadrille flats.
Thursday: Don’t be afraid to mix things up and throw a fitted quarter sleeve shirt underneath your LBD to craft a layering effect that adds a little bit of playfulness to your ensemble. Top off the look with combat boots or simple heeled ankle booties for a more refined look.
Friday: It’s time to celebrate the weekend and add a little edginess to your ensemble. Accompany your LBD with a leather jacket and wedge boots for a night out on the town.
Saturday: Make your statement on Saturday by wearing nothing but your LBD. Keep it simple and elegant with hair pulled back and minimal jewelry.
Sunday: Make your LBD a part of your “Sunday’s Best” by using a neutral colored flat scarf as a shawl or slipping on a sheer kimono with a cute pair of neutral, color-blocked strappy sandals.

This spring season, suede has made a big impression at Fashion Week. Top designers such as Michael Kors and Chloe have brought the material to life through simple yet chic ensembles that can be snatched straight from the runway and incorporated into your everyday routine.
Often, the suede trend favors a neutral color scheme, but it can also be found in a variety of colors such as cool forest greens and maroon. Since it is a heavier material, you want to try to balance it out with a lighter fabric such as a silk or light cotton.
Another option is to go for the all-suede ensemble, but make sure to keep it all in one neutral-based shade so that it looks effortless and clean. Compliment this look with a cool pair of strappy gladiator sandals and a simple messenger bag to make a chic, Spring 2015 statement.
If you’re not quite ready for the all-suede ensemble, look out for cool suede accent pieces that can be easily incorporated into your wardrobe. Perfect for the on-the-go fashionista, a suede backpack with leather strap accents is a hot item this season. Not only is it a statement piece that goes with almost any outfit, but it is a functional accessory that is sure to prove worthy of your investment.
The main takeaway here is that you don’t always need loud patterns and colors to make a statement. Rather, simply adding new materials into your wardrobe can take your look to the next level. Just as with any other art form, diversity is key. Fashion is not solely about what you wear, but it is more so about how you wear it.

This spring is all about creating elongated shapes with select textures and fabrics. This Calvin Klein 2015 spring runway look is the perfect example of using clothing to create new shapes. This seamless blend of elegance and minimalism has dominated the Spring 2015 fashion scene across the globe. Calvin Klein has reestablished its runway presence by creating long, elegant silhouettes with neutral sheer fabrics and silks. Though this is a high-end look, it can easily be recreated on a low budget with minimal effort — all you need is the right guidance.
This Asos ‘One Fashion by Vera Moda Gingham Print Pencil Skirt’ is only $16 online and has the perfect shape and fabric to recreate Calvin Klein’s runway look. It is a very simple shape with a minimalistic structure that lies right below the knee, making it more wearable.
This elongated ‘Project Social T Double V Cami’ from Urban Outfitters is only $29 and pairs perfectly with the Asos skirt to mimic the featured runway look with a more casual and cool vibe.
The key to recreating runway styles is to make sure that your materials and shapes flow seamlessly into one another. For this particular ensemble, you want to keep the skirt light and simple, not bulky and texturized. This allows the sheer top to flow elegantly over the skirt, creating that sophisticated and elongated shape. To complete the look, wear a sleek, pulled-back hairstyle and slip on a pair of neutral sandals or heels.

One of the best ways to improve your eye for fashion is to familiarize yourself with how pieces should be paired together and how the end result should be in total balance. Instagram is a great fashion reference for current trends and the latest styles if you’re following all the right people. The following are some fashion-forward accounts that I highly recommend:
Chiara Ferragni: Creator of “The Blonde Salad” fashion blog, Chiara Ferragni is a must when it comes to fashion icons to follow on Instagram. She collaborates with all the major Fashion Houses and can be seen at almost all high-fashion events. If that wasn’t enough to convince you, she has also been named one of the most influential personalities of the international fashion world by Business of Fashion. For someone with such high status in the fashion world, her Instagram is fun, down-to-earth and let’s not forget, inspiring (to say the least).
Something Navy: Arielle Noa Nachmani is a New York City-based fashion blogger that continually supplies killer street style. Often, dressing casually is one of the hardest things to pull off since there is such a fine line between being fashion-forward and looking like you’re trying too hard. Next time you find yourself contemplating how to keep your style calm, cool and collected, scroll through a few of Arielle’s outfit Instas and you’ll be sure to find the perfect fit.
Alealimay: If you need something a bit more edgy that also kisses the surface of high fashion, look no further. This girl has street fashion down to a science. She constantly plays around with different shapes and materials, always guaranteeing something completely new and unpredictable. Just take a look at a few of her photos and you’ll be sure to gain some valuable inspiration.
Sincerely Jules: Fashion blogger Julie Sarinana is one of my personal favorites. Her fashion sense is on-point and impeccably well-balanced. She never fails to give me outfit inspiration, forcing me to look at my closet in a completely new light. As if her wardrobe isn’t appealing enough, she constantly posts beautiful photos of her latest travel destinations along with natural landscapes that will take your breath away. Truly a work of art!

Transitioning your closet from one season to the next is never an easy task. With an unstable climate that can go from freezing to 65 degrees in the span of just a few hours, it can be nearly impossible to put together an outfit that will keep you comfortable as well as fashion-forward all day. Thankfully, there are always ways to be innovative and create completely new looks without having to open up your wallet.
So let’s talk about something that several of us tend to have a surplus of — scarves. This is probably one of the most transitional pieces that you can own, simply because scarves are completely free-form and can be worn in hundreds of different ways. Here are two great uses for scarves that will help your wardrobe blossom.
The Fresh Spring Wrap: Take the widest scarf you have, open it completely, and place it around your back (as if you’re wrapping a blanket around yourself). Next, leave one end hanging down over your left shoulder and grab the end of the scarf that is hanging over your right shoulder. Take this end, pull it across your chest and wrap it around to the back of your left shoulder. Finally, take a safety pin or broach and secure the right end of the scarf in place. This creates an effortless, Parisian-inspired wrap that allows you to break up with your winter coat and start your new spring fling.
Belt it Out: Take two or three thin silk scarves and braid them together. Don’t be afraid to tie scarves with different patterns and colors together — as long as you keep your outfit simple enough to balance out your look. After you’ve made your braided scarf belt, you can either loop it through a cute pair of distressed boyfriend jeans or even tie it around a fitted dress to accentuate your waistline. Tie the belt a little off-center and let the loose ends fall down your side. This elegant and sleek tie belt is the perfect new DIY accessory for this spring season.

There’s just a little over a week until spring is officially here, yet the overwhelming amount of snow that remains has kept us bundled up rather than enjoying the warm spring air, unable to wear flowing frocks and bright ensembles. So what’s the plan between now and Friday, March 20, to prepare our wardrobes for the new season?
Just to make sure you’re fully equipped, I’ve compiled a few guidelines that will help your closet blossom with the latest Spring 2015 trends:
Eras to Mimic: The ‘70s are traveling through time to pay spring 2015 a visit. This season, expect tons of retro-inspired outfits including flared pants, paisley patterns and tons of fringe accents.
Colors to Catch Your Eye: When shopping for spring, try to favor a neutral color palette with a few bright accent pieces that can add tasteful pops of color (bright orange and baby blues are big this season).
Patterns to Play With: Floral patterns are always favored during the spring season. However, don’t go overboard. Make sure to add a variety of patterns so you can expand your wardrobe portfolio. Gingham (a gridlock, checkered pattern that somewhat resembles a French tablecloth) is an ultra-chic pattern I highly recommend.
Shapes to Shimmy Into: Look out for long, neutral-colored sweaters that go far past knee length, as well as a light trench coat to keep you warm until the temperature finally decides to go above freezing. Also, try to find yourself a pair of leg-lengthening flared pants. As far as skirts and dresses go, play with A-line shapes, oversized T-shirt dresses and high-waist midi skirts.
Fabrics to Fall For: I highly recommend adding some silks, suede fringe and tons of denim to your collection.

I would be doing you all a great disservice if I wrote this article about anything other than Kanye West’s collaboration with Adidas, that was finally brought to the spotlight on Thursday, Feb. 12. No matter if you like, dislike or are indifferent to Kanye as a musician, it’s evident that he has a serious eye for fashion and art.
The line is sportswear-based and encompasses a worn and torn edge accompanied by military elements from past and present. The color palette is muted and earthy with every piece effortlessly complimenting the others. The greatest feature of this line, however, is the functionality and comfort of the clothing.
There are few things better than a line that can be incorporated into our everyday attire, that has the ability to accent and enhance our different styles.
The highlight of this entire line is not only the beauty of the clothing, but rather that for which it stands. Upon opening his launch show, Kanye spoke about the meaning of his work.
Here’s an excerpt from New York Magazine:
“I want to create something better for you. We have been limited. It’s bigger than who I am in this, you know, in my presence living. It’s about, you know, when I was on earth, what did I do to help? I want people to think more — I want people to feel like it’s okay to create and follow what their dreams are, and not feel boxed in. I want people to feel like awesome is possible. There’s a lack of creativity in every field ‘cause people are afraid. As an artist, and in this world, we can do whatever we want.”
If you haven’t already, I suggest you check out this line and let the message sink in. Most importantly, take Kanye’s advice and don’t be afraid to follow your dreams.

Layering is a balancing act — no single article of clothing should throw off the other. Rather, each piece should serve a purpose and compliment all of the other components of your ensemble. The beauty of layering is that you don’t need a whole lot of different articles of clothing to create a completely unique look. Here are the Golden Rules:
1. Be Color Conscious:
In order to pull off the layering look, it’s important to stay within a very refined color scheme. Whether it be neutrals, darks, earthy tones or all-white, make sure it’s consistent and concise.
2. Pick Your Patterns:
Though pattern clashing is an awesome trend that can make a bold statement, it’s extremely easy to overwhelm an outfit with too many patterns. As a general rule, stick with one pattern that adds a pop of color, yet remains within your color scheme. A patterned oxford poking out under a big, chunky sweater is a great way to layer in patterns.
3. Keep Your Balance:
One of the biggest dilemmas people run into with layering is looking too bulky. This often happens because bulky items are paired together. It’s important to remember the shapes of your clothes and how they accent one another. If you have on a huge chunky sweater, make sure to wear dark slim-fitting pants with short ankle boots of the same (or similar) color to lengthen your legs and keep lower half sleek and slim.
4. Take on New Textures
Texturizing is one of the key components to layering. If you decide to work with a single-color outfit, make sure to incorporate at least one textured piece (a tweed skirt or fur vest) to add personality and dimension to your look.

As I turn the page of my calendar from January to February, I begin to come to the sad realization that winter is not going to end anytime soon. At this point, it is often difficult to harness the inspiration to put together a fashion-forward outfit every single day of this dreary season (sorry, winter lovers). I mean really, I only have so many long-sleeve shirts and snow-appropriate boots in my wardrobe. It’s so much easier to just hibernate inside all day and watch countless hours of Netflix in my pajamas until spring finally arrives. If any of this resonates with how you feel during the middle of winter, I urge you to find a style icon that can reboot your frozen love for fashion.
The greatest thing about fashion is that it is a form of self-expression. So, when trying to find your fashion icon, look toward someone who not only dresses well, but also resonates with who you are and what you’re interested in. Let the way you dress represent who you are and what you’re passionate about. Too often, people misrepresent fashion as a superficial, materialistic obsession that holds no real value. I’m here to tell you that true fashion inspiration comes from within, and it is something that can inspire us to be our best selves. Why wait for a special occasion to feel good about yourself when you can do that every single day?
I challenge you to research some awe-inspiring people and pay attention to how they represent themselves through fashion. Let them re-spark your passions and inspire you to represent your best self and do whatever makes you feel good.

Goodbye 2014 and hello to a whole new year of fashion! But is it really?
While studying all of the new trends from 2015 Fashion Week, we couldn’t help but notice that so many collections are odes to past eras; mainly, the 90s. Just about two seasons ago, grunge inspired styles like crop tops and plaid shirts around the waist became a huge sensation that quite honestly, still hasn’t died out. So what is it about the 90s that makes it so popular?
It was the introduction of minimalism and the celebration of the teenage lifestyle. We can’t even count how many times we’ve had conversations with other '90s kids about the shows we used to watch, the games we used to play and the things we used to wear. We '90s kids are very protective and almost infatuated with an era that many of us were too young to even understand or appreciate. This got us thinking, perhaps we are so in love with '90s fashion because it gives us a second chance to dive in and re-experience the era at an age that is capable of understanding how cool it truly is.
So while it’s still here, let’s slip on our slouchy boyfriend jeans, throw on a cropped band t-shirt and embrace it even more in 2015. After all, we are old enough to pick out our own outfits now.

This week we caught up with junior political science major Catherine Tung, who is studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic!
Q: What do you wear on a typical day in Prague?
A: Usually dark wash jeans, paired with low-ankle booties and a large knit sweater with a warm vest. Scarves and layers are also slowly becoming essentials, as temperatures drop in Central and Eastern Europe.
Q: How do native students dress for class?
A: Definitely a lot more fancy and stylish than American students. Custom-fitted coats and cropped blazers are very popular, and everything is tailored perfectly to their bodies. You’ll never see someone stroll into class wearing a baggy top and loose sweatpants.
Q: Are there any definite faux pas in Europe that Americans wear?
A: It’s super easy to spot out Americans. There are certain “trends” that Europe would never adopt, such as men in basketball shorts and running shoes or women in light-wash ripped jeans and flip-flops. Americans are far more casual and careless in how they dress themselves.
Q: Out of the places you have traveled to so far, which city is the most stylish?
A: That’s a tough one, because all of Europe is so fashion-forward. But, if I had to choose one, I’d definitely say Paris. The city’s style is elegant yet effortless – or better known as “Parisian chic.”
Q: What would you recommend a student pack for studying abroad?
A: If there’s one thing to overpack, it’s clothing. But fashion aside, definitely pack a nice camera or a GoPro. iPhones suffice in emergency cases, but to really document your experiences abroad (because trust me, it flies), professional photos and videos are the way to go.

LATEST OBSESSION: Trench Coats
Dating all the way back to “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (my personal favorite), trench coats have been a signature fashion statement for decades. The great thing about trench coats is that they are extremely versatile and multi-seasonal. This worthy investment will last you through the winter months and all the way into spring. If you’re on a tight budget, we suggest you invest in a neutral colored trench to increase the adaptability of outfit choices. If you have a little money to spend, grab a few different trenches in various shapes and colors!
Dress it Up!
Got a hot date this evening? What better way to show off what a fashionista you are than slipping on a vibrant mini dress under an elegant taupe trench coat! Throw on some simple jewelry, such as pearl earrings or diamond studs to complete the look, and you can put money down on getting that second date.
Corporate Chic:
Business events are always the hardest for which to dress. You want to make sure you look corporate and conservative, but you don’t want to look like you’re playing dress-up in mom’s closet. A trench coat is the perfect solution to avoid shoulder-padded blazers, and yet still look professional and put together. Try a neutral colored blouse tucked into an A-line patterned midi (no, not mini) skirt with a pair of nude pumps all under a sleek black trench coat.
Keep it Casual:
Jeans and T-shirt kind of day? No problem! A bluish-grey trench coat atop a plain white oversized tee tucked into high-waisted or boyfriend jeans is the perfect way to keep the comfort while looking poised and put together. Slip on a cute pair of flats or Vans and you’re ready to take on the day!

This season, the fashion world has seen a shift in footwear trends. Get yourself ready to go out with the old and in with the new as we give you just a few examples of the latest and greatest ways to strut on the city streets:
Ankle Boots: Pushing its way past the ever-popular riding boot, these ankle-hugging beauties will elevate your style from zero to 100 really quickly. Probably the greatest thing about this trend is that it’s so versatile. Pair them with a cute knee-length dress or even some ankle-cropped jeans and you’ve got yourself a recipe for the runway.
Birkenstock Sandals: Fashion seems to have an obsession with making unconventionally appealing styles a hot trend. These German-made sandals have a bit of a chunky feel to them that has previously had the reputation of an “around the house” shoe. Enter 2014, however, and top style icons, such as Heidi Klum, have incorporated these shoes into their everyday street fashion. Designers such as Miu Miu and Tory Burch have even put their own spin on this trend out on the market.
Strappy Heels: Though we all love our pumps, models have been spotted wearing open-toed strappy heels on the city streets. This simplistic shoe is sure to bring an air of sheer elegance to your wardrobe. These heels are ideal for pairing with jeans to pull off a casual-meets-sophisticated ensemble.
Slip-On Sneakers: Nothing is better than when comfort meets fashion. Say goodbye to the days of compromise and say hello to new days of strutting down the city streets without grimacing from the pain of unforgiving shoes. Don’t be afraid to pair your slip-ons with a dress or skirt to show off your ability to master New York street style.

It’s time to break up with your skinny jeans and fall in love with this season’s hottest trend: boyfriend jeans. No boyfriend? No problem! You can find these trend-setting trousers in virtually any shopping mall or online shopping site. Not only will you look effortlessly chic, but you will be more comfortable than you ever thought you could be in a pair of jeans.
A great staple piece is something that can be versatile and adaptable to any occasion. That is why we are so obsessed with the boyfriend jean. It suits any look from a casual Sunday brunch to a late night on the town. Though some may be hesitant to try a looser-fitting jean, the switch is definitely worth making. Celebrities and fashion icons, such as Miranda Kerr, Christine Teigen and Jessica Alba can all be seen sporting this trend out on the streets. The best way to truly rock this look can be achieved by following the provided checklist:
Do the jeans sit at your hip bones? When wearing boyfriend jeans, the fit should be a bit slouchy and relaxed.
Is the wash and texture right? A lighter wash with a few tears and distress marks along the way is our personal favorite look, but pick the one that best suits your personal style preferences.
Are the bottoms rolled up slightly above your ankles? The cuff roll is a crucial element to pulling off this look, so make sure you got it down right.
Add your own flair! Every look should be your own in some way. Add a chunky belt or bright strappy heels to customize the look to your liking.

It’s that time of year again! New York Fashion Week — where trends are set, statements are made and attention is certainly captured. New York’s fashion week commenced on Thursday, Sept. 4, and will be followed by London, Milan and, finally, Paris in early October.
The main purpose of all the madness is for top designers to market their spring and summer lines to an audience of buyers and top fashion editors to gain shelf space and good press. Designers display their line creations for the season ahead, so pay close attention to the trends that will be appearing in spring 2015.
Sleek, Modern and Silk: Presenting an Arabian desert-inspired collection, Nicholas K is definitely on our top-list. The designer displayed draped necklines, loose trousers and shawls worn tied at the waist, looped across the shoulders or twisted hijab style around the head. The collection flaunted beautiful fabrics in black, army green, crisp white and powder blue.
Soft Silhouettes/Pastels: Tadashi Shoji unveiled soft, dream-like ensembles at his show, using lace and chiffon to bring a more feminine structure to each piece. The designer also incorporated high-collared necklines and modest skirt lengths to balance out the cropped-blouses and sheer midriffs. BCBG Max is another designer who graced the runway with beautiful, soft feminine frocks that seemed to float across the floor with every step.
1960s/1990s: Whitney Pozgay’s line introduced a band of fun, bold patterns across structured crop tops paired with A-line skirts, as well as V-neck pant suits that seem to create an era-mash up between the 1960s and 1990s. But Pozgay isn’t the only one sending us through a fashion time-warp. Desigual also brought back ’90s mini skirts and ’60s mod dresses splashed with loud patterns and bright colors that surged the runway with a gracious energy-boost.

Some days, neon shirts and boisterous patterns totally make the statement you’re looking for, but when all that color gets too loud, try toning it down with an all neutral ensemble.
Welcome to fall 2014 where brands such as Zara, Chanel and Free People are all flaunting neutrals as their number one trend of the season. We urge you to check out some of these new collections, but if you’re like most college students on a tight budget, don’t sweat it! This look is extremely easy to replicate on a shoestring budget.
Camel Couture
Especially after a long summer of soaking up the sun, beige or camel is the perfect color to flaunt your bronze skin. Try a simple beige slip dress under a sheer kimono or taupe cardigan with some cold accent jewelry, strappy sandals, and minimal makeup to finish off the look.
50 Shades of Grey
If you want to take a shot at cooling down the summer heat, try a refreshing shade of blue-grey on your pallet. A light gray tank with a pair of washed out denim shorts and a blue gray scarf wrapped loosely around your neck or even draped over your shoulders will instantly cool down anyone in need of refreshing.
Dirty martini
A color that seems to keep returning every season is olive green. Pair an army jacket or oversized olive cardigan with a high-waisted grey midi skirt and crop-top combination and you’ve got yourself a ticket to the runway!
Final Note: When going for the neutral look, be careful not to over do jewelry or accessories. The basis of this trend is a minimalist style that is perfect for every occasion!

As spring is approaching and the temperature begins to climb (thank God), we shimmy out of our winter blues and into our fair-weather apparel. There are few better ways to make the adjustment into the warmer months than with a new pair of short shorts. No money? No problem! As always, we’ve got you covered.
Before you throw out those old jeans you don’t really wear anymore, grab a pair of scissors and some chalk and get to work.
1. First, try on the jeans and make sure the waist and thigh areas have a nice fit to them. If they are too tight, your short will bunch in all the wrong places. Jeans that are a little bit looser will have a more desirable cut as shorts.
2. With the jeans still on, use the chalk to mark out a good length. We recommend marking a spot a bit longer than you actually desire because you always have room to make them shorter.
3. Once you have your length marked, you can take off the jeans and begin to cut.
4. Cut along the marked chalk line and throw the jeans back on to see how they fit.
5. If they are longer than you want, keep repeating the chalk marking and cutting until the desired length is achieved. Once you have the right length, you can take a razor to fray the edges and then throw the shorts in the wash to finalize the effect.
Another option is to leave the shorts on and fold up the bottom to make a rolled cuff effect until you reach a length you are happy with.

The next time you pick up People Magazine, flip through the first few pages. In almost every issue, you are guaranteed to see a photo of a celebrity or model gallivanting through an airport, en route to an exotic destination. However, take note that these women are never schlepping their carry-on bags in pajamas, sweatpants or Uggs. Rather, they are sporting expertly-crafted ensembles that literally turn heads. The greatest thing about these chic airport looks is that they require little time or thought — the key is that they are effortless. To achieve this stylish perfection, take tips from the pros.
The Kristin Cavallari: Like this celeb did, pair liquid black leggings with a black tank top, and layer with a neutral, chunky-knit sweater. Finish the look with black ankle booties. We’re crossing our fingers she’s heading back to Laguna Beach.
The Cara Delevigne: For an edgier take, master tomboy chic like this British model, who has been seen wearing a graphic tee, cool kicks, black leggings and a leather motorcycle jacket at the airport.
The Emma Stone: Utilize borrowed-from-the-boys charm in a classic chambray shirt, oversized jacket and studded loafers. Emma Stone executes this boyish airport look flawlessly.
The Emma Watson: This A-lister has recently been seen traveling in a flouncy, cotton-white dress under an oversized sweater, black combat boots and dark shades. Emma shows firsthand that this combo is magical.
The Rosie Huntington-Whitely: Take note from this stylish model, who was recently seen in cuffed denim jeans, a fitted jacket and an enormously oversized scarf. She managed to make the look chic, even while toting two suitcases.
Wherever your destination may take you this spring break, start your trip off on a stylish foot. Taking inspiration from celebs who combine wardrobe staples such as jean leggings, chunky sweaters, ankle booties and oversized scarves will help you create the perfect look. And even if your destination is your bedroom at home, don’t be shy to use these chic tips for everyday street style.

We’ve all done it. We try on a piece of jewelry, look at ourselves in the mirror and wonder if it pushes the outfit over the top. Many times, it’s hard to determine where the fine line is between just enough and way too much. Jewelry is meant to accent your ensemble — to give it a little extra pop of color or texture. Too often, we see a “crowding out effect,” if you will, where the jewelry overshadows the clothing and weighs down the outfit all together. The key here is balance. If you’re wearing a bold pattern or texture. Stay away from chunky or bright jewelry. Instead, try a simple pair of studded earrings to have a little flashy flare without overpowering the ensemble.
Wearing a very basic black or solid color outfit. Don’t be afraid to adorn yourself with a crazy jewelry centerpiece. A wide bib of colorful beads may be just what the fashion police ordered to bring your outfit to the next level.
The plunging neckline. Some think that with all of that bare skin showing, you need a bold necklace to accentuate and balance it out.
