Bitter cold winter days will shortly be a thing of the past. Soon you will be able to kiss goodbye your beloved winter wardrobe and embrace your spunky spring style (the two of us are counting down the days!!) The fashion transition from winter to spring can be completely seamless and completely inexpensive if you follow a few of our tips:

1. Accessorizing is a super easy way to change things up without having to overhaul your entire wardrobe. A lightweight scarf will be one of your BFFs during this transition: not only can thin scarves be super cute, but they’re also the perfect accessory for this transition period’s sometimes awkward weather. One of our personal favorites is this paisley scarf from Pacsun (it’s also only $11.86 ... talk about a steal). The two of us are all about infinity scarves: to create one out of this scarf, simply tie the ends together; an easy way to achieve an adorable look.

Another accessory we love for the spring is simple: light bags rather than heavy totes. Swap out your bulky purse for a light clutch or a cross body bag.

2. Color is an essential styling tool to any gal’s wardrobe. Adding some color to your washed-out winter wardrobe pallet is an easy way to transition your style. Choose pretty pastels and bright neons these next few weeks in order to segway your look.

Retailers are well-aware of the styling struggle that takes hold of every woman during this time. During this transition period, retailers create timeless pieces in a variety of spring-based shades. Pictured below is an adorable and inexpensive Forever21 striped cardigan in three perfect springtime shades.

3. Layer it!
One of our favorite layer options this spring fashion season is cropped, hoodless sweatshirts. Adding one of these up and comers into your closet can bring your gear from drab to fab. On a colder day, throw on a long sleeve button down and layer it with a bright cropped sweatshirt. And when warm weather is officially upon us, pair your cropped sweatshirt with a high waisted skirt or layer it over a plain dress! The cropped sweatshirt is an easy layer that is fun, light and trendy!

4. But the most inexpensive way to transition? By changing up your nails and your makeup! Opt for a fresh-faced look with natural tones. A nude lip or a pastel pink will instantly bring your face a fresh spring look. As for your nails, ditch the dreary winter blacks and greys and stick with lighter polishes. Our go-to color for the spring season is Essie’s “Fiji.”

We totally understand the awkward transitioning between seasons, especially the unpredictable winter to spring change. But, with these tips, we hope we have made it a little easier for all of you fashionistas out there who are trying to stay stylin’ on a budget!

Sincerely,
From the Roberts
