From the Roberts: Inside Our Closets

Heads up! This article was imported from a previous version of The Signal. If you notice any issues, please let us know.

Although we love to blog about the looks and trends we love, there is nothing we love more than actually making them come to life. This week we took a peak in to our personal closets to show just how we practice what we preach! We chose to focus on pieces we use in our daily wardrobes that add a bit of edge, remain practical and create the wow factor that every outfit should be accompanied by.

The both of us can agree that a basic combat boot is a shoe-go-to for fashionistas looking to keep it simple. But if you’re like us, then you definitely like to take your boot game to another level every now and then. To dress up any casual outfit, opt for a heeled combat boot, rather than a flat. Raquel just bought these adorable maroon leather ones from DSW, and she has been sporting them around campus in both casual and dressier outfits. Raquel loves this pair because they remind her of Doc Martens, which of course add a little bit of edge to any outfit.

If you’re looking to stick to the basics, then go for a simple black-heeled combat, such as the Aldo Trusa boots below. Or, if you’re like the two of us, then you might be searching for a little extra edge when it comes to footwear. Both the Steve Madden Noodless and the Aldo Abeawen booties are perfect for any one looking to up their shoe style.

Yet another trend that the two of us are currently obsessing over are fur and fleece lined winter coats. We get it. It’s hard to put a lot of effort into your outfit when you feel like you are going to get frostbite every time you step outside. Luckily, the fleece / fur on these jackets adds a little extra warmth (of course while adding a loooooot of style). Samantha bought this Pull & Bear coat while she was visiting Raquel on her study abroad program in Spain. “I have a basic winter coat that I wear from day to day,” Samantha says, “but when I’m looking to be a bit dressier, I always opt for this jacket. It’s perfect. I love it.”

Below, the two of us have compiled a few fur/ fleece lined jackets that we think are must haves. Not only are they adorable, but they are also all under $100!! We love a good deal ?

Stay Warm!!!

Until Next Time,

From the Roberts
