The most dreaded time for students is quickly approaching– final’s week.
Although final exams often cause students a lot of stress, there is no need to fret. I’ve put together several simple outfit ideas for final’s week that are each comfy and cozy. I have rolled out of bed 15 minutes before plenty of my finals and gone in my pajamas, but I firmly believe that if you look well put-together, you will perform better. Read these easy-to-follow tips on how to create the comfiest look that will be sure to earn you that A.
If you are studying in the library all day or have an 8 a.m. final, wear your favorite oversized sweatshirt and athleisure leggings with comfortable sneakers. Make sure to wear a T-shirt or tank top underneath your sweatshirt in case the room you are in has the heat on at full blast.
If you have a midmorning final, consider wearing leggings or jeggings and a cozy sweater and boots. Even though the outfit requires minimal effort, you will still look put-together and feel cozy. For an even more comfortable look, try to minimize any outfit distractions. For example, I have one sweater that always falls off my shoulder throughout the day. If I want to focus, I make sure that nothing on my body is going to distract me.
If you have an afternoon or evening final, wear jeans, a turtleneck and booties. Again, make sure whatever you’re wearing is comfortable. If you have the time to get changed before your final, wearing something that you feel confident in is key. Add your favorite pair of earrings or a small bracelet and you’re ready to ace that final.
When preparing for the week, make sure to lay your outfit along with your backpack the evening before. It will eliminate some stress in the morning.

When the weather gets cold and it gets darker much earlier, cozy sweaters can do a lot to brighten up winter days. Here are the five essential sweaters that you are going to want to wear all season:
Oversized white sweater. My friends always joke that my closet consists of nothing but cozy white sweaters! The reason I own so many is because they are incredibly versatile and pair well with almost any bottom.
Color block. Color blocking is a popular trend that is making its way into many stores! I love these sweaters because they are an easy way to add color to any outfit. I usually gravitate toward neutral colors, which allows me to mix things up with the rest of my outfit.
Cozy Cardigan. Cardigans are awesome because they keep you warm but can be paired with a T-shirt or tank top, which lets you keep wearing your favorite summer pieces even in the coldest weather. Cardigans can be dressed up or paired with leggings for a casual look.
Turtleneck. Wearing a turtleneck is like wearing a sweater and a scarf at the same time. Not only are they practical because they keep your neck warm, but they are also sophisticated and stylish. Turtlenecks can be worn with a skirt, leggings, jeans or even trousers, depending on what type of look you are going for.
Cable Knit. I love cable knit sweaters because they add dimension to any outfit, and they are usually warmer than a regular cotton sweater. I usually purchase my cable knit sweaters from the J. Crew Mercantile, which is similar to an outlet, or American Eagle, which has a wide array of colors.

If you’re anything like me, you get easily bored with your clothes and you are always looking for new trends and different ways to switch up your wardrobe. Usually, revamping your wardrobe and experimenting can be expensive, but that does not always need to be the case. Here are four easy ways to change up your style and experiment with fashion without breaking the bank.
Borrow from your friends. One of the biggest benefits of living on-campus is that you live in close proximity to your friends. Whenever I get stuck in a rut with my clothes, or I feel like I have nothing to wear, I always ask my friends if I can borrow their clothes. Sometimes we do a clothing swap where we trade pieces of clothing for a few weeks, and then we rotate. Clothing swaps are a great way to save money.
Thrift stores. Thrift stores are an easy and inexpensive way to change your wardrobe or find new pieces that you love. Thrift stores can be hit or miss, but if you go into a store with an open mind, you never know what you’re going to find. Also, looking at stores like Plato’s Closet or some of the upscale thrift stores in Philadelphia or New York are a good option. Also, looking at outlet stores such as American Eagle Outlet or J. Crew Outlet can help you find new pieces at a discounted rate.
On-trend stores. Stores such as Forever 21, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and H&M have a wide arrange of clothing options for a more inexpensive price. If I’m feeling uninspired and bored with my wardrobe, I head to my local mall and browse around. I usually won’t buy more than two or three items, and I make sure that everything I purchase can be worn with multiple outfits to ensure my clothes won’t collect dust in my closet.
Purchasing accessories such as scarves, purses or hats is another easy way to change up your wardrobe. Rather then worry about finding the perfect fall sweater, or splurging on a new pair of jeans, focusing on the smaller details about your outfits is a simple way to experiment. While I always advise having a few classic accessories, purchasing some bolder accessories that are still affordable can pay off if you want to switch up your look. For example, an affordable bag in a fun color or a trendy scarf adds depth to an outfit.

Picture this — you’re just about ready to walk to class in a cozy sweater, jeans and boots. You grab your backpack and walk outside when the cold air smacks you in the face, making you question why you didn’t dress warmer. Even though it is a short walk, you still need a jacket to keep you warm. Here are five popular and practical jackets to help you prepare for the colder days ahead.
Rain jackets. They will keep you protected from the rain and wind, but beware, not all rain jackets will keep you warm. If you want an all-weather jacket, look for one that has a lining inside the jacket and a drawstring hood in case the wind picks up.
Knee length jacket (or longer). As the temperatures drop, you are going to want something that blocks the cold air. The longer the jacket, the more it keeps you warm. Look for jackets with pockets to keep your hands warm too.
Trench coat. Trench coats are perfect for days when you want to look professional for your job, internship or interview. I personally like wearing a light brown trench coat for a classic look, but there is a wide variety of colors and variations to the classic trench coat.
Fuzzy jacket. Fuzzy jackets and teddy jackets are one of the most popular trends of the season. Everywhere I look, stores are selling jackets that not only keep you warm, but that are also comfortable. If you don’t want to pay a lot of money for a fuzzy jacket, check out stores such as TJMaxx, Forever 21 and H&M for discounted prices that won’t make you sacrifice your savings for style.
Jean jackets. I will always be a jean jacket person! There are so many outfit combinations that you can make with jean jackets, and you can dress them up or down. For example, you could wear a simple black dress, a dark denim jacket and fall booties for a fall evening look. A more relaxed look can be achieved with a jean jacket, leggings, an oversized T-shirt and slip-on sneakers.

Some people have had their Halloween costume planned since the beginning of September, while others wait until the day before to decide what to wear — I’m someone who always waits until the last minute to decide what my costume is going to be. Here are five simple and easy costumes that are affordable, easy to find in stores and quick to assemble.
Rosie the Riveter. Nothing says girl boss quite like Rosie! For this costume, all you need is a red bandana or headband, a short sleeve denim shirt and denim jeans. Add some red lipstick and throw your hair in a bun and you are ready in less than 15 minutes. Thrift stores are a great place to look for Halloween costume pieces, and Forever 21 has a wide assortment of affordable denim and headbands.
Scarecrow. For this simple look, you are going to need a flannel shirt, overalls or boyfriend jeans and brown boots. To add more detail to your outfit, add some bright pink blush to your cheeks and draw some stitches on your face. I love this costume because you likely already have these pieces in your wardrobe.
Sandy from “Grease.” This costume is timeless. For this look, all you need is black pants and a black off-the-shoulder shirt. Add some red lipstick and curl your hair, and you are ready for Halloween. If you really want to add color, add a pair of red shoes.
Cactus. I saw this costume on Pinterest and thought it was so different. It takes a little bit more time to assemble than the others, but it is worthwhile. The easiest way to create this costume is to purchase white pipe cleaners and glue them onto a dark green sweater or shirt. Once the pipe cleaners are glued on, bend them to make them resemble a cactus. For the cactus flower, glue a pink flower on a plastic headband and you are ready!
Rachel from “Friends.” This costume is in honor of my favorite sitcom and an absolute classic. You need a black long sleeve shirt, a bodycon skirt, black tights and black booties. This look is inspired by when she worked as the waitress as Central Perk, so you can also add an apron with the Central Perk logo drawn, pasted or printed on it.

The leaves are changing, the air is crisp and pumpkin spice-flavored treats have hit the shelves. Since the forecast predicts that fall weather is finally here to stay, here are the top 10 fall trends to help you style your autumn wardrobe.
Animal print. This trend has been popular on both the runway and the streets. Pair your favorite animal print item with neutral pieces for a bold look — I love to wear a fun pair of leopard print booties with an all black outfit.
Chunky Cardigans. Cardigans are a simple way to transition your favorite summer T-shirts or tank tops into the fall season.
Turtlenecks and denim skirts. A cozy turtleneck with a dark denim or black skirt is a polished look that will also keep you warm. If the temperatures continue to drop, throw on a pair of tights under the skirt.
Over-the-knee boots. Boots are not only practical because they keep your legs warm, but they are also so cute! You can style them with any outfit.
Leather jackets. I am a huge leather jacket fan and I love to pair mine with a leopard print bag to incorporate multiple fall trends into my outfit.
Yellow sweaters. Yellow became widely popular over the summer, and luckily the trend is continuing into the fall. Pair a yellow sweater with black jeans and brown booties for an easy, comfortable outfit.
Alternative denim. Ripped, high waist, alternative hem and fringe jeans are some examples of trendy, alternative denim. Alternative denim can be pricey, but if you head into stores like Forever 21, you are likely to find an affordable pair.
Front-tie thermal sweaters. Stores like Anthropologie frequently showcase front-tie sweaters, which have also become a popular trend at the College.
Fuzzy jackets. There’s nothing better than throwing on a fuzzy sweater or jacket when it starts to get chilly. If you don’t want to break the bank on a jacket, check Amazon! It has a great selection and affordable prices.
Color block sweaters. I love wearing a color block sweater if I can’t decide what to wear, because I get to mix stripes with various colors. During the fall season, I tend to purchase color block sweaters in maroon, brown, yellow, orange and purple.

October is finally here— the leaves are changing color, the air is getting crisp and it’s about time to bring out your boots and sweaters. In addition to fall festivities, October is also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Here are some tips for incorporating pops of pink into your outfits, allowing you to not only have some fun with your clothes, but also show your support for the cause.
1. Select your favorite shade of pink. Pink has a wide range of hues — from hot pink, to baby pink, to salmon, there are so many possibilities. Figuring out which shades of pink you like the most helps you decide which pink pieces to purchase. Pink can either be used as a neutral color or a statement color depending on which shade you wear.
2. Accessorize with pink. With the chilly months ahead, now is the perfect time to purchase some pink accessories. Scarves, hats, gloves and other cold weather accessories are starting to hit store shelves. For now, pink wallets, purses, headbands, sneakers and even pink lipsticks are an easy addition your everyday outfits.
3. Mix feminine looks with edgier pieces. Because the color is so versatile, you can mix in pink with every type of outfit. For example, wearing a pink suede leather jacket with an all black outfit, or wearing a pink blouse with a black leather jacket, are easy ways to add balance and depth to your look.
4. Purchasing a pink sweater is an easy way to prepare for fall. Cable knit, cardigans, crop sweaters or crewneck sweatshirts can be your go-to fall staples. Sure, traditional fall colors such as orange, green, brown and neutrals are still widely in style, but switching up your fall color palette is a great way to add some variety.

When is it wise to splurge on an outfit and when is it smart to save and opt for a less expensive option? Knowing how to manage your money in college is crucial, and while there are some items you should invest in because of their quality and durability, there are some pieces of clothing and accessories that you don’t need to spend a large chunk of your paycheck on. Here are some easy tips to help you navigate the process.
Ask yourself how much you plan on wearing the item. If you think you’ll only wear it a few times because the shirt has a loud print or the shoes are not that comfortable, then your best bet is to find a more affordable alternative. If you think you’ll wear the shoes multiple times per week, or if the cute jeans you found fit well and go with almost any outfit, you should splurge.
Sweaters and cold weather clothing. You should try to find higher quality items for cold weather clothing. When you shop for coats, warm sweaters and vests, always try the pieces on to make sure the material is comfortable and will keep you warm. Just because a jacket looks stylish does not mean it’s going to keep you warm. I always recommend spending a little more money on cold weather items because the more expensive items are often made with more insulation and will last longer. The same goes for boots. You can purchase inexpensive boots, but chances are they won’t last for more than a season.
Trend pieces. Typically, items that are in style are not worth spending a lot of money on. In the fashion industry, trends ebb and flow rather quickly. Of course, if it’s something that you are in love with, and you want to spend money on it, then go for it. If you find a trend that you like but don’t want to purchase a piece from high-end brands, check out stores like Forever 21 and H&M. They often recreate name brand trends for a fraction of the cost.

Shopping is both an exhilarating and stressful experience. The goal is to walk into a store and find something that not only fits and makes you feel confident, but also doesn’t break the bank. In college, shopping can be a great way to treat yourself after a long week, but if you enter a store with the wrong mindset, your day of relaxation can be interrupted.
The concept of mindfulness, or state of being conscious of something, is a popular way of thinking. You can be mindful no matter where you are or what you’re doing, even when trying on clothes in the fitting room. Here are three tips on how to have a relaxing and mindful shopping experience.
Try to enter a store with a goal in mind. Whether you are shopping for a birthday outfit, internship apparel or simply want to purchase something that you feel radiant in, have a mental conservation with yourself before you enter the store. Ask yourself, “What is going to make me happy,” “How much do I want to spend” and “How long am I going to spend searching for clothes?” I try not to have an overly specific idea of what I am shopping for. For example, when I shop for an extremely specific outfit, I am usually unable to find what I wanted and end up feeling disappointed. Instead, I let go of my expectations and search for an outfit that attracts me in the moment.
Search for brands that align with your morals and standards. Whether you are into vegan, cruelty-free brands, brands that are centered in the U.S. or a brand that does not use retouching on their models, find a company that not only inspires you but aligns with who you are. For example, American Eagle hires models who are plus sized and models with disabilities. They also do not edit their photos in an effort to showcase the natural beauty of women.
Decide what trends align with your style. The fashion industry is constantly developing new trends, and it can often be overwhelming to discern which trends you truly like and which trends you support because they are popular. Wearing clothes only because they are popular among your peers, celebrities or other influencers won’t fulfill you. Just because a style is popular does not mean that you have to wear it. When you go shopping, look for clothing that makes you smile and brings you joy, regardless of whether it is “in style” right now.

Due to the rainy weather, our campus has not seen its fair share of sunshine recently. Despite the dreary clouds, you can brighten your mood on rainy days with vibrant outfits. Here are several tips for dressing for the rainy weather that are comfortable, yet stylish and cheerful.
Wear yellow. There is a reason yellow rain boots have been popular in movies, TV shows and even on the runway for quite some time. When there is no sun out, yellow boots, or any yellow-colored clothes, emulate the sunshine. Yellow is an easy color to wear because it is generally paired with neutral colors. Pair a yellow sweater with black jeans and rain boots, or wear a neutral-colored outfit with yellow rain boots.
Baseball caps. If it is only misting outside, baseball caps can help keep your hair tame while adding style to your outfit. Pair your favorite hat with a cozy sweater or sweatshirt, leggings and either sneakers or rain boots.
Comfy dress. Maybe you need to dress up for a class presentation, or you don’t want to let the rain stop you from dressing up. Comfortable dresses such as shift and T-shirt dresses should be your go-to staple for rainy days. Pair a striped T-shirt dress with your favorite rain boots and a cardigan for a simple yet trendy rainy day outfit.
Fun printed umbrella. Who says umbrellas can’t be an accessory? There are plenty of stores such as Forever 21, Marshalls and H&M that sell printed umbrellas. I purchased a Dalmatian print umbrella last year, and it always puts a smile on my face. Fun umbrellas are not only useful for blocking the rain, but they also brighten up the mood when it is chilly and rainy.
Messy ponytails or buns. How many times have you straightened or curled your hair only to find out it’s raining? Sometimes the best hairstyle is one that embraces your natural hair. When it’s raining, your hair will likely get damp, and all the effort you put into styling it will go to waste. Put your hair in a messy ponytail or bun so it is away from your face but won’t get messed up in the rain.

The most important week in the fashion industry is here! People from all over the globe made their way to New York City’s Fashion Week this weekend to watch top designers showcase their styles. In the fashion industry, designers must work at least two seasons ahead. The looks showcased this weekend were geared toward next spring, while clothes from the February 2018 fashion week were designed for fall.
Since fall is just around the corner, I will focus on the looks from the February 2018 Fashion Week. While most of the runway designs are too elaborate for campus, it is still easy to incorporate some of the Fashion Week trends into your everyday outfits. Here are the top three fall-inspired Fashion Week trends, with tips and tricks on how to transform runway looks into wearable outfits.
Vibrant colors. Designers like as Tom Ford, Valentino and Alexander Wang featured eye-catching colors on the runway. Orange, purple and red were among the most common colors selected. With fall approaching, it is easy to add pops of vibrant colors into your looks. Wearing a red sweater or painting your nails orange are simple ways to add vibrancy and boldness to your outfits.
Fitted Jackets. Chanel’s theme this year was inspired by old fashioned cruise ships — they had an actual ship on the runway — and their look was timeless. Rather than simply imitating the nautical theme, Chanel created pieces that were a cross between a ship captain and a pilot. The brand turned typical masculine looks, such as a leather pilots jacket, into wearable feminine pieces. If you want to channel your inner Chanel, look for fitted jackets. A fitted style, like a cognac brown leather jacket or an army green bomber jacket will add depth to any outfit.
Plaid. Plaid is making a big comeback this season. Plaid dresses, blazers and even pants were a popular trend during Fashion Week. While wearing a full plaid blazer and pant outfit to class might not be practical, it won’t be hard to find a few plaid printed pieces. Stores such as Forever 21, H&M and Madewell have a wide selection of plaid. I particularly like wearing a plaid printed shift dress paired with black sandals and a denim jacket when the weather starts to cool off.

Now that I have been back at school for a week, I’ve made it my mission to observe various fashion trends on campus. Each campus has its own culture, and I have to say, students at the College are up on their fashion. Here are the top five trends I’ve spotted on campus thus far.
Birkenstocks. It seems like everywhere I look, students are sporting one of the most popular shoe trends of the summer. Birkenstocks, or any similar shoe brand, are simple sandals that are both comfortable and pairable with almost any outfit.
Dresses with fun prints. Typically worn with Birkenstocks, patterned dresses are a common campus trend. Floral, dalmatian and striped dresses are taking the campus by storm this semester.
Athleisure. Athleisure is my favorite, and also the most common, campus trend. Whether I am getting ready to go to the gym or preparing for a rainy day, athleisure is my go-to outfit choice. A popular athleisure outfit is an oversized T-shirt or sweatshirt, black leggings and sneakers, which is ideal for an early class or a long day at the library.
Denim skirts. Denim skirts are the perfect bottom, because they can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. On the first day of the semester, there were multiple people in each of my classes who were wearing denim skirts. Skirts are so versatile and can be valuable transition pieces as we grow closer to fall.
Jumpsuits. Casual jumpsuits have also grown popular. Jumpsuits, the cross between a dress and pants, are the perfect early fall essential. Similar to denim skirts, you can dress the jumpsuit up or down. They are great for class too, because they are typically made out of comfortable material. To me, wearing a jumpsuit to class is the equivalent of wearing pajamas to class, only it’s a trendy and sophisticated look that makes it appear as though you put lots of effort into your outfit.

Whether you are returning to campus or you have just started as a new student, there are certain essentials that every college student needs in their wardrobe. Packing for college can be overwhelming, but with my list of wardrobe must haves, preparing for the new semester will be a breeze! Here are some things you should bring:
A variety of lounge clothes: While you may expect to dress up everyday of the semester, in reality there will be times where you wake up moments before your class at 8 a.m. class because you were studying until dawn. Having a few go-to comfortable pieces such as leggings, your favorite College spirit wear or an oversized T-shirt will make those early mornings easier. In addition, embrace the versatility of baseball hats to get through a bad hair day.
Several pieces of professional clothing: You never know when you have to dress professionally, so having at least one business casual and business professional outfit will only benefit you in the long run. Whether you have an internship, interview or your professor requests that you dress professionally for a presentation, keeping one or two professional outfits will make your life easier. I recommend having a pair of dress pants or a skirt, two blouses and one blazer, all with a neutral color scheme so you can mix and match.
Layers, layers and more layers: Late summer and early fall bring unpredictable weather. There’s always the chance that it is chilly in the morning, hot in the afternoon and chilly again at night. Having pieces that can easily be layered will make your life easier when you have an early class or you have to be on campus for long amounts of time. Pieces such as flannels, chunky cardigans and light jackets will be necessary for fall’s unpredictable weather. One of my favorite layered outfits is a pair of black leggings, an oversized gray T-shirt, a light army green jacket and a comfortable pair of sandals.
Evening clothes: While you don’t need to bring every single dress or skirt you own, having a few dressy pieces in your college wardrobe will come in handy. Whether you are going out to dinner with your friends, going on a date or your parents come for your birthday dinner, having a dressy outfit or two is essential. I suggest bringing a black dress that you can accessorize for any occasion, a denim skirt and a pair of non-ripped black jeans, as well as a pair of wedges or dressy sandals.
Athletic clothes: Whether you are going to a group fitness class in the Recreation Center, hitting the gym after class or running the loop, having a few workout outfits that you feel confident in is key.

As the semester winds down, and finals season begins, here are a few fashion tips to make dressing for final exams easier. Now, you’re probably thinking, “Why do I care what I look like during finals?” I completely agree with you, but there are studies that show that dressing nicer for tests, presentations and other important academic events helps your performance. I’m not suggesting that you wear a business suit to your 8 a.m. calculus final, but wearing leggings instead of pajamas or sweatpants might boost your score! All of the following outfit suggestions focus on comfort and require minimal effort.
Leggings, oversized sweater and slip on sneakers. Although it is April, the buildings are still chilly. Wearing an oversized sweater instead of a big sweatshirt will make you look more put together yet still cozy and comfortable.
Athleisure. I’m a big fan of athleisure, which is a mix between athletic wear and casual wear. Wearing a pair of sports leggings with an athletic sweatshirt or tank top makes for a great outfit.
Comfy jeans and a loose top. If you have a little time before your exam, wearing your favorite pair of comfy jeans and a loose flowy top gives the impression that you spent more time getting ready than you actually did. If you want to look even more sophisticated, add a necklace or a cardigan to add depth to the outfit.
Flannel and leggings. The final outfit suggestion is to wear leggings (or jeans) and a cute flannel. This is my go-to finals outfit, especially when I pair it with a baseball hat and grey suede slip on sneakers.
Best of luck to everyone on their finals!!

Today we are catching up with junior special education and sociology double major Bailey McLavish. When she isn’t student teaching in the classroom or working as a Student Ambassador, she likes to go to the beach and spend time with friends. I have always admired Bailey’s style, and I often go to her for fashion advice.
LY: Where are your favorite places to shop?
BM: I love to find a good deal, so I usually shop at American Eagle, Free People, TJ Maxx and Nordstrom Rack. Those stores really fit my style, and I can always find something that I look and feel good in.
LY: What is your favorite spring trend?
BM: I absolutely love jean jackets. I think they work with almost any outfit. Not only are they cute, they also serve a purpose because they keep you warm during the chilly spring nights. I like to wear a jean jacket with a casual dress or keep the outfit simple and wear it with a nice pair of black jeans and a white top.
LY: How would you describe your style?
BM: I would have to say I have a mix between beachy and bohemian. I prefer to wear simple clothes, but I like to accent my outfits with a boho top or shoes.
LY: Where do you get your fashion inspiration from?
BM: I love to look at Pinterest for outfit ideas, especially when I have a piece that I don’t know how to style. Sometimes I get bored with my clothes so rather than buy new clothes, I check Pinterest to see how I can create new outfits with the clothes I already own.
LY: What advice to you have to those who want to step out of their comfort zone?
BM: Definitely check out stores like TJ Maxx because you get can trendy pieces for less, so you don’t break the bank if the piece goes out of style. If you truly like something, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t wear it. Also, if you want to dress outside your comfort zone, you can always add a pop of color. For example, I don’t wear red often, but if I want to change up my style, I’ll wear red or another bright color.

With the rising temperatures and warm sun, it is safe to say that spring is finally here. Recently, I’ve been noticing a ton of new accessory trends that can help any spring outfit look put together and stylish. Whether you are going out to dinner, heading to class or hitting the library, here are three new spring accessory essentials that are affordable and easy to wear.
Sunglasses. Cute sunglasses add the finishing touch to every outfit. I’ve noticed that mirrored lens, round lens and colored-lens glasses are making their way in every fashion blog and Instagram account. I recently found that stores such as Forever 21 and H&M have a wide variety of trendy sunglasses that don’t break the bank! The other benefit of purchasing inexpensive sunglasses is that it’s not a disaster if you break or misplace them.
Casual sneakers. I am a big fan of this trend, especially when it’s not exactly warm enough to wear sandals. Slip on sneakers go with virtually any outfit, regardless if it is dressy or casual. Brands such as Adidas, Vince and Vans have plenty styles and colors for you to choose from. I love my pair of light pink suede sneakers from Adidas, because not only are they comfortable, but they are also versatile and affordable.
Light pink purses. As someone who typically uses black or brown bags, I wasn’t exactly sold on this trend until I found a gorgeous light pink bag from Gucci. Of course there was no way I was going to pay that much money for a bag, so I found some dupes on Amazon, Forever 21, Anthropologie and TJ Maxx that are affordable. I always advise purchasing a dupe of a real bag to make sure you like the style and color before you commit to the high-end version. The light pink pairs well with an edgy all black outfit, or with a girly white dress.

Plain white T-shirts are one of the most versatile pieces of clothing you could ever own. You can create so many amazing outfits with a simple white shirt — from dressy to casual, the possibilities are endless. Today, I’m going to share with you five stylish outfit combinations that incorporate a white T-shirt.
White T-shirt with a leather jacket. As the weather slowly begins to warm up, I’ve been reaching for my moto-style leather jacket, which I like to pair with a white v-neck tee, black jeans and black booties. The outfit gives off an edgy yet comfortable vibe.
White tee and a flannel. A T-shirt and flannel is my go-to library look. If I get chilly in the library, I can put on my flannel, or if it’s warm, I can wrap it around my waist. I also typically add a baseball cap to hide my messy hair!
White T-shirt and boyfriend style jeans. I am a big fan of pairing distressed denim with a simplistic white shirt. For shoes, I usually wear my favorite grey suede slip ons, or white low-top converse. The outfit looks like I put a lot of effort into it, but in reality, it’s so simple!
White tee and a cardigan. There is nothing I love more than a cozy cardigan. I usually pair a gray or sand-colored cardigan with a white tee and leggings or ripped jeans. To add a little bit of dimension to the outfit, I’ll add a few pieces of dainty jewelry.
White T-shirt and a denim or printed skirt. I’ve been seeing this look all over fashion blogs and street-style inspired Instagram posts. For a simpler look, pair a denim skirt with a white shirt and a fun pair of flats or slip ons. If you’re feeling more daring, take a printed mini skirt such with stripes or a pattern on it and balance its business with the white shirt. I have a feeling this look will be on trend for the entire spring season.

It’s time to debunk the myth that in order to be fashionable, you must wear what is in style every day. The first rule of fashion is to wear what you love and what makes you feel confident!
I used to obsess over fashion magazines, watch red carpet events and agonize over what celebrities were wearing because I thought that was what made someone fashionable. I tried my best to replicate other people’s styles because I was unsure of my own style. It was easier to copy someone else than to figure out what I actually liked wearing and what made me feel confident. Luckily, as I grew older, I started to learn what clothes made me feel happy and what brands matched my values.
I’m a firm believer that if you wear clothes that give you confidence, you will feel a lot better about yourself. I no longer hide behind someone else’s preferences and stopped letting what people thought was trendy dictate how I perceive myself.
Dressing for confidence is all about wearing what makes you feel happy and what you are comfortable in. If you feel most comfortable wearing all black, go for it. If you prefer to wear flare jeans over skinny jeans, then don’t hesitate! Only you ultimately know what clothes you feel your best in.
It can be challenging to take a leap of faith and trust your instincts. With the ever growing presence of social media, it’s hard not to compare yourself and your style to celebrities and influencers. I still get a lot of my inspiration from fashion bloggers, but I always add my own flare.
When you try something on, ask yourself if it makes you feel confident. If the answer is no, you don’t need it. If you like something, it’s fashionable. Don’t worry about if other people would wear it. If it makes you happy, then you’re on your way to developing your own style.
I encourage and welcome boldness into my wardrobe. While I typically gravitate toward a more minimalist style, I also love loud prints, shirts with funky sleeves, edgy leather jackets and ripped boyfriend jeans. It takes a lot of courage to wear what you actually want to wear instead of dressing to fit in. Once you start dressing for yourself and wearing what you feel good in, you’re going to be unstoppable.

Stripes have always been my go-to pattern for as long as I can remember. At one point in my teenage years, a majority of my wardrobe was filled with black and white stripes. As I grew older, my love for stripes continued. Luckily for me, stripes have been appearing in all the recent spring fashion lines. While stripes may seem like an overwhelming, busy pattern, there are simple and easy ways to bring stripes into your style. Here are five outfits that involve stripes.
Striped black and white sweater, with ripped jeans and slip-on grey suede shoes. Whenever I’m indecisive on what to wear, I always gravitate toward this outfit. The sweater provides warmth and the stripes provides a flattering effect for any body type.
Striped T-shirt and an olive-green jacket. I typically pair the top and jacket with my favorite pair of leggings for a more casual look. If I want to dress the outfit up, I’ll add a pair of dark wash jeans and either booties or flats. For jewelry, dainty pieces such as gold bracelets or a simple necklace is best worn with stripes.
Striped pants and a black shirt. This outfit is edgier than any other striped outfit, but the right pair of striped pants looks amazing with a simple top and shoes. Since the pants are a statement, I keep my makeup and accessories to a minimum. This outfit is perfect for whenever I need a confidence boost.
Striped crewneck. I found the perfect crewneck from Madewell. It is warm but still flattering. The best part about a striped crewneck is that you can dress it up or down depending on the look you want to achieve. For example, a crewneck looks great with leggings, but I can also add ripped jeans or even dress trousers. I always feel put together wearing the crewneck because I know that I’m going to be comfortable, but still trendy.
Striped dress. Dresses are my favorite fashion secret because they make you look fashionable and dressed up, but in reality you only have to coordinate shoes and jewelry rather than come up with a whole outfit. There are striped dresses in every style, but my favorite is a striped T-shirt dress or a striped maxi dress.

Although there is still some cold weather left in the forecast, spring is quickly approaching. After doing some shopping over spring break, I was inspired by all of the new collections and color palettes the upcoming season has to offer. While most days it’s too early to wear shorts, spring themed dresses or sandals, here are a few easy ways to incorporate pieces inspired by warmer weather into your wardrobe:
Light colored clothes. Nothing says spring like pastels and light neutrals. Pair your favorite dark colored jeans or pants with a light top or lightly colored cardigan. Another easy way to add some color is to accessorize your outfit with dainty gold or silver jewelry.
Sweaters and skirts. For relatively warm days, pair your favorite jean skirt with a warm sweater. For added style, pair a chunky sweater with a belt or long necklace and booties.
Spring florals. There are a ton of new floral patterns emerging for the new season. I tend to be very picky with patterns, especially floral ones, but recently I’ve been seeing a lot of florals that pair well with a variety of outfits. I recommend pairing your florals with dark colored jeans and tan booties.
Light ripped jeans. Alternative denim is still wildly popular, but as the temperatures begin to rise, light jeans become more and more trendy. I love to pair my ripped jeans with a white sweater and pink suede sneakers for a trendy take on a classic look.
