Men's Tennis defeats Haverford
Men's tennis was victorious against Haverford in a dual-match, winning by a score of 5-2 in action last Wednesday. The Lions' (10-5) performance was highlighted by senior Marc Hill, who won his first singles match, 6-2, 6-2 and junior Bryan Hanley, who scored a 6-0, 6-1 rout in second singles. The pair also teamed together for an 8-1 victory in first doubles. With his singles victory, Hill is now 7-0 for the season. "Hill's been playing great," head coach Scott Dicheck said. "He's worked hard and it has showed on the court." Freshman Rishi Patel also scored a victory for the Lions with a 4-6, 6-1 victory in fifth singles. The Lions also won sixth singles with sophomore Victor Lai's 6-1, 6-2 victory. The team won the doubles point with the Hill and Handley's victory and an 8-4 victory in third singles by Patel and freshman Kenneth Tsui. "It was a good win for us, since they were regionally ranked," Dicheck said. With the victory, the Lions improve to 5-2 with a four match winning streak. They hope to continue the streak with two away matches this weekend at Skidmore and Union. The scheduled Women's match for this weekend was cancelled.
