Ever since Lady Gaga’s debut album “The Fame” transformed the world of pop music, Gaga has been known as Mother Monster to millions of fans worldwide. Now, 18 years later, Gaga has stepped into complete motherhood, welcoming her first child with her fiancé, Michael Polansky.
To maintain the privacy of Gaga’s pregnancy, the couple has yet to disclose the baby’s name or gender. The exact date of birth is unknown; however, the news was announced on Sept. 11.
After the conclusion of her Mayhem Ball tour in April, Gaga effectively reduced her public presence to zero. Page Six was the first source to report on the couple’s new addition, publishing exclusive photos of the postpartum singer and Polansky with their newborn child. The photos mark the first time that Gaga has been spotted in public since the summer.
Gaga and Polansky both plan to put their careers on pause as they focus on adapting to parenthood and their upcoming marriage. The couple expects to marry soon, but there is no public confirmation of a wedding date.
Gaga and Polansky met in late 2019, after the singer’s mother urged them to meet. The couple fell in love during the COVID-19 pandemic, when they shared a home in quarantine.
Gaga recalled in an interview with Vogue, “My mom met him, and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ and I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’ I could never have imagined that my mom…found the most perfect person for me?”
Polansky is a Harvard-educated tech CEO, entrepreneur, venture capitalist and philanthropist. He currently works as CEO of The Parker Group, founded by former Facebook President and philanthropist Sean Baker. Polansky is also attached to Gaga’s new skin-health company, Outer Biosciences, and her cosmetic brand, Haus Labs.
Although the recent news has come as a surprise to fans, Gaga hasn’t shied away from speaking of her desire to become a mother in past interviews. After her engagement to Polansky in 2024, the singer told numerous outlets she is ready to start a family of her own.
During her 2025 appearance on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert, Gaga remarked, “I would like to do many things. But what I really want is to be a mom. That’s my next starring role, I hope.”
That same year, Gaga shared her sentiments on motherhood to Elle Magazine: “It’s such an intense thing for kids coming into the world. And they're told how to think and what to believe in and how to eat…I just kind of want to let my kids find out who they are.”
Gaga has worn many hats throughout her career, but she may find motherhood to be her most rewarding yet. Gaga has received an outpouring of congratulations from her fans, who are sharing the joy of this exciting moment in the singer’s life.
