Trump’s Greenland land grab met with disapproval from Greenlanders

President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal of the United States buying Greenland has drawn disapproval from a majority of Greenlanders, according to a poll produced by Danish publication Berlingske. According to NPR, Trump initially introduced this proposal on Truth Social in December 2024, stating, “For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity.”

24-hour economic blackout protests corporate DEI rollbacks

A 24-hour economic blackout on Feb. 28 aimed to stall all economic activity, predominantly targeting major corporations to show power elites that everyday consumers are the backbone of the economy. The movement, organized by The People’s Union USA, gained momentum among American customers on social media platforms.

Trump announces plans for new gold card path to citizenship

President Donald Trump announced on Feb. 26 that he plans to implement a new gold card program for foreign-born immigrants looking for a route to citizenship, according to AP News.  Unlike previous programs, such as the green card, the gold card will be distributed via a commercial system and is set to be sold for $5 million.

Pope Francis battling double pneumonia

Pope Francis is currently battling double pneumonia, according to AP News. The Vatican stated that a CT chest scan showed the beginning stages of the illness. In an effort to improve the pope’s health, he is being treated with cortisone and antibiotics.

USAID: What it is, why it was created, why Trump and Musk want it gone

The United States Agency for International Development was established in 1961 when former President John F. Kennedy signed an executive order to promote American progress abroad, according to USAID Archives. USAID was created to provide foreign assistance and humanitarian aid, supporting economic development, education, healthcare and disaster relief across the globe. However, Al Jazeera stated the agency has come under fire in recent years, with figures like President Donald Trump and Elon Musk calling for its defunding, citing concerns over wasteful spending.

Google Calendar erases various cultural celebrations amid Trump’s DEI crackdown

Google Calendar has removed several cultural celebrations such as Black History Month, Women’s History Month and Pride Month. According to the New York Post, this resulted from the Trump administration’s crackdown on diversity, equity and inclusion policies. Other celebrations like Hispanic Heritage Month, Jewish Heritage Month, Holocaust Remembrance Day and more were also erased.

Trump administration orders major data purge, affects dozens of websites

Information was taken down from several United States government websites shortly after President Donald Trump took office, affecting 8,000 web pages across dozens of sites that provide information on vaccines, scientific research, hate crimes and many other topics. These website purges have been driven by federal agencies rushing to incorporate Trump’s executive orders, which target “gender ideology” and other diversity issues, according to The New York Times.

Trump Administration ramps up ICE raids in effort to crackdown immigration

During President Donald Trump’s first week in office, Americans witnessed federal immigration enforcement intensify under his administration. The effects of his administration’s policies have been felt on local ground in Newark, New Jersey, where the business Ocean Seafood Depot was targeted. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were seen rounding up both undocumented immigrants and American citizens, Reuters reported.
