County in Texas bans helping women travel to get an abortion

Lubbock, Texas, a county close to the New Mexico border, has passed an ordinance banning people from assisting women to travel to get an abortion, despite abortion being legal within the county itself. This new “travel ban” serves as another attempt from conservatives to further restrict abortion access and female autonomy since the fall of Roe v. Wade.

Federal prosecutors file 10 new felony charges against rep. George Santos

Federal prosecutors have accused Rep. George Santos of stealing donor’s identities and fraudulently ringing up tens of thousands of dollars on their credit cards in unauthorized charges. The Congressman was charged in an indictment that added 10 new felony charges to his pre-existing 13 charges.

This ousting is quite extraordinary, marking the first time in U.S. history a speaker has been voted out of office. On March 27, an armed assailant forcibly invaded and opened fire at the Covenant School, an evangelical private academy in Nashville, Tennessee. The shooter, identified as 28 year old Audrey E. Hale, a former student of the institution, murdered six people. This attack on schools has further ignited the fight for gun legislation and restriction.
