The newest Westeros show is far from a fantasy epic: ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’

The show and the novella it’s based on are centered on the lowly hedge knight Dunk, a young man who came from the impoverished slums of Flea Bottom. He is heading to participate in the Ashford tourney shortly after the death of his master, Ser Arlan of Pennytree, the knight he squired for since boyhood. At the Ashford tourney, Dunk faces money issues, contends with smug, dismissive nobles and meets a precocious, intelligent bald boy named Egg who insists on becoming his squire.

With the year coming to an end and critically acclaimed films such as “Sinners”, "Caught Stealing” and “One Battle After Another” gaining attention as shoe-ins for Oscar nominations and possibly even wins, there is one film that has sadly gone under the radar. That film is “The Long Walk,” which was released on Sept. 12 and directed by Francis Lawrence, adapting the 1979 Stephen King novel of the same name.

‘Peacemaker’ Season 2: A multiverse of madness

‘Common Side Effects’ is a breath of fresh air for adult animation

“Common Side Effects” was created by Joseph Bennett and Steve Hely and follows the discovery of the blue angel mushroom, which can cure any sickness or injury. This results in attempts by the government and pharmaceutical company Reutical to cover up its existence by any means necessary.

'Invincible’ season three takes superhero television to new heights

“Invincible” Season 3 is well worth watching for anyone interested in superhero stories, action media or just riveting storytelling in general. While it is held back by occasionally clunky animation, the strength of the writing and characterization show that superhero stories can hold the weight and importance of the best prestige dramas.
