Uni?n Latina's charity benefits from 'egg-ceptional' donors

Heads up! This article was imported from a previous version of The Signal. If you notice any issues, please let us know.

The members of Uni?n Latina (UL) continue to carry out their dedication to helping children by collaborating with Angel's Wings, a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization since 1999 in Trenton, N.J. that helps children in the local community.

The organization provides these children with basic items such as food, clothing and gift certificates by organizing a charity fundraiser and getting students of the College involved.

In the successful Easter charity fundraiser titled "Egg-ceptional Giving," students were encouraged to "pick an egg for children," and asked to donate the item described inside their plastic egg between March 22 and 26.

A total of 58 egg-ceptional givers participated across the campus. Students and faculty donated a variety of items and monetary contributions during the five-day charity event. The giving did not end after the event, because donations continued to be dropped off at event coordinator Stephanie Nieves' dorm room, a week later. "I am very grateful for all the support and encouragement organizations such as Uni?n Latina, and the rest of the student body have given me during this past charity fundraiser," Nieves said. "It feels good to know that other TCNJ students and faculty share my passion for child advocacy, and are eager to help others in the community."

UL looks forward to repeating this successful charity event in the near future, to continue gift-giving all year. Nieves also plans to include other organizations like Angel's Wings in her fundraiser, to help more children.
