OPINION: Water bottles are the Silly Bandz of college

As college students, most people have grown out of the herd mentality and now buy products that align with their personal tastes and preferences. However, trends will never fully disappear. Popular products will always emerge, whether we like them or not.  While we may not face ridicule for resisting these trends, they can still feel desirable, as you frequently see others on campus flaunting certain items. This can make you question yourself on whether you genuinely like these products, or are simply drawn to them because they are popular.

Ask yourself whether or not the things you prioritize in your life are benefitting you in any way. Are there other things or people you can be giving greater attention and love to that will serve you even more?

As podcasts gain more traction and attention, content creators are rushing to get their slice of the pie. Not everyone has the same credibility as “Call Her Daddy” to be able to secure famous interviewees, so many of them turn into conversational podcasts based on the lives and opinions of the hosts. Some creators focus on drama, while others try to give advice to their listeners. But are any of these people really qualified to lead these conversations?

OPINION: Eickhoff Hall should serve pancakes every day for breakfast

The Wok station is only open during lunch and dinner time, so my question is, why don’t they offer pancakes there every morning for breakfast? Even though the two waffle makers are there every day instead of only on the weekends, I think that the mini pancakes would make a great addition. The waffle makers are often dirty, either crusted in batter or leftover grease, or there is no batter left at all.

Letter to the Editor: Where are we heading?

At World Languages and Cultures, we recently had to reduce 11 adjunct sections for the spring and summer because this year we can only use a maximum of 42 adjunct sections for the whole academic year. However, due to the Voluntary Separation Agreement, we lost two tenured faculty members just last year, which equals 12 classes per academic year.
