Coffee creates community at the Library Café

This corner of the R. Barbara Gitenstein Library is home to a vibrant community. As soon as you step inside, the scent of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, the hum of the machines blending with the constant chatter of students. A long line of customers isn’t an uncommon sight, and between the morning and middle of the day, almost every seat is filled.

Speaking through songs reaches countless people. After all, everyone listens to music. Songs promote ideas, and ideas promote change. Gen-Z cares more about change than any other living generation, and famous artists miss the opportunity to communicate relative and valuable information.

OPINION: What a Tony Hawk NFT says about celebrity culture

NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, have been dominating cryptocurrency news stories over the past year. An NFT is a piece of data stored on a blockchain which can be traded or sold for millions of dollars. They’re the latest development in digital art collection and can take the form of gifs, videos, tweets and now, skateboard tricks.  Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk recently made the decision to retire some of his most famous tricks, converting them to NFTs and cashing in on the craze, much to the chagrin of his fanbase.
