Japan builds 3D printed train station in 6 hours

Japan became the first country to build a 3D-printed railway station on March 26 when it created a new version of Hatsushima Station in Arida, Japan, in under six hours. The new 3D printed station replaced an ageing wooden structure, and was assembled with pre-printed parts that were put together by cranes between the departure of the last train and the first train arrival the next morning, The Independent reported.

Hawaii’s tourism industry is suffering

Hawaii has witnessed a devastating decline in the number of tourist visits in recent years, with nearly half a million fewer tourists in 2025 compared to pre-pandemic levels. The island relies on visitors for its tourism industry to thrive, yet travelers often feel deterred from vacationing in the Aloha State at all, partly due to Maui Mayor Richard Bissen’s plan to eliminate thousands of vacation rentals, according to Beat of Hawaii.

Elon Musk and top trade advisor Peter Navarro clash over tariff plans

Tech billionaire and President Trump’s senior advisor Elon Musk has recently clashed with top trade advisor Peter Navarro pertaining to the tariff sector. Navarro drew the ire of Musk in an CNBC interview, stating that Elon Musk is a car assembler that wants cheap foreign parts. Navarro also criticized multinational auto company Tesla, stating that the company is “not a car manufacturer,” according to USA Today. Navarro ultimately ended the interview by stating that “all is good with Elon,” according to NBC News.

Trump administration set to purge thousands of Department of Health and Human Service jobs

The United States Department of Health and Human Services has seen a drastic cut in the agency's number of jobs due to the efforts of President Donald Trump’s administration. The HHS, a cabinet-level executive branch department of the federal government, may see up to 10,000 employees laid off, according to CBS News. This number was doubled as another 10,000 employees took “early retirement and voluntary separation offers,” CBS news reported.

Tesla sales plummet amid Elon Musk backlash

After Elon Musk voiced his support for President Donald Trump’s administration and far right parties in Europe, Tesla has now become a subject of boycotts and political protests. Musk’s right-wing shift is not sitting well with Tesla shareholders and potential buyers, a majority of whom identify as liberal, according to PBS.

Black Lives Matter Plaza dismantled in Washington, D.C.

After President Donald Trump pledged to eliminate “wokeness” in America, construction workers began removing the city’s Black Lives Matter street mural in Washington, D.C., on March 10. The Trump administration also recently revived congressional efforts to put Washington back under direct federal control, according to AP News.

Czech leaders respond to rising Trump-Ukrainian tensions

President Donald Trump’s meeting with Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has triggered a fury of responses from the Czech Republic. The Feb. 28 meeting was expected to discuss ongoing United States involvement in Ukraine’s defense against Russian invasion. However, talks ended abruptly after contentious debate, much of which focused on Zelenskyy’s gratitude for U.S. financial and military assistance.
