Women’s Club Crew: A profile

The women’s club crew team at the College has been a club for 10 years now and continues to make changes and improvements. The women’s club crew team meets four days a week at mercer lake for two hour practices where they practice their skills and get in shape. This club is certainly not for the weak-minded — they practice at 5 a.m. and compete in three regattas, or rowing competitions, a semester. Bryce Harper described the fan base in a postgame interview after his go-ahead game-winning homerun against the Padres: “Everybody talks about the blue-collarness of this city and the fight that they have. It just rubs off on all of us. I've said it multiple times; if we have 46,000 people in the stadium, that's 46,026 'cause we're all in this together” (Flickr/"Citizen's Bank Park" by Jim Epler. Underdog Phillies Give City Season to Remember

As of Sept. 27 in Chicago Illinois, The Philadelphia Phillies had just been swept by the Chicago Cubs (68-86) and another September collapse seemed imminent. With a two-game lead for the final wild-card spot slowly slipping after an 11-14 record in September, it seemed that even if the Phillies did stumble their way into the final playoff spot, they would not be going very far. Confidence in the Phillies was not high, but after taking the series 4-1 against the NL-worst Washington Nationals, all the Phillies needed was one more win to clinch a playoff berth. Heading into Houston to take on the AL-leading Houston Astros, Aaron Nola, known for his late-year struggles, pitched a no-hitter heading into the 6th inning. Eventually finished off by stout reliever Jose Alvarado and newly formed closer Zach Eflin. Leading the Phillies to a 3-0 win, and their first playoff berth in 11 years.

Giant Success: The Unexpected Early Season Success of the New York Giants

The New York Giants came into the 2022 season with very little expectations. Most NFL fans and reporters predicted that the Giants would be a bottom-tier team, and most likely a team with a high draft pick in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. These early season predictions for the Giants have proved to be wrong, as they have raced out to a 6-2 record, including a four game win streak at one point and have cemented themselves as one of the top teams in the league this season. It has left many fans to wonder; how did the Giants go from an expected last place division finish to the top of the conference?

TCNJ Football Analysis: Where We Are

Lions football is entering conference play with an intriguing 1-2 record. Their lone win came from beating Moravian College 31-13 in the home opener on Sept. 3. Strong defense and good quarterback play has led the Lions to take a step forward to start the season. Junior Stephan Begen had a great game throwing for 230 yards and a touchdown to Kevin Pennell in the victory. This was the first time the College won an opening game since 2011.
